What book are they studying at the book study these days ?
One that they wrote themselves - nothing like writing and studying a book about what you already think to enhance real learning
haven't been to one in a couple of years.
i know they just finished the daniel book.
what are they studying now?

"dignity for all - soon!
" , proclaims the 8/1/'06 watchtower cover!.
do jehovah's witnesses really believe that dignity for all is soon?
Do Jehovah's Witnesses really believe; that dignity for all is soon?; No, they do not.
Don't they believe that you're gonna be on the receiving end of THEIR dignity, and get ALL THE DIGNITY YOU RIGHTEOUSLY DESERVE for not believing them ?
i was just skimming through lt's intolerance thread and it seemed to me that sometimes tolerance is a terrible thing.
we don't tolerate racism, sexism or abuse and punish it when we can.
we expose and ridicule individuals and corporations if they are found guilty of fraud or deceit because we are intolerant of dishonesty.
You mean it's not ok if I knock on your door when you're not home and tell our latest porkies to your children ?
the old testament yhwh was a simple solo god almighty.
in the new testament the nature of god becomes quite confusing based on some expressions of jesus and the nt writers.
from a higher critic point of view, why did the nt writers introduce such confusion?.
Why does NT have a TRINITARIAN slant so foreign to OT
The Old Testament YHWH was a simple solo God Almighty
That's from the first parts of the first book
be careful about how you hear, for to him who has more will be given
i was thinking about this today and was wondering what the wts has to say about such things ?.
isaiah 43:10 : ... before me no god was formed nor will there be one after me.... john 1:1 (nwt): ... the word was a god .... john 1:2 : ... he was with god in the beginning .... if no god would ever be formed before and no god would be formed after, when was jesus christ ( a mighty god - isa 9:6 ) formed ?
i think the bible makes itself quite clear regarding time, first and last, alpha and omega, beginning and end, before and after, morning and evening etc.. so i would think that saying god is not within a form of time albiet a different time to ours (days = years) wouldn't hold water when compared to the scriptures... rev 1:17 - ... do not be afraid.
For us when God was over us - let there be light
born again when we give birth
who are my mothers ?

i was just reading the thread on "why baptise the young" and it occured to me that whereas infant baptism is something given that is beyond control of the recipient, the jw baptism of "young people" lays the responsibility at the feet of the recipient, though in the main too young to wear this responsibility, creating yet another victim blaming exercise for the wtbts.

parents are naturally concerned that their children not make the same mistakes they did.
the society seem to be worried about the power of this impulse to protect one's children.
page 161 of the new book live with jehovah's day in mind reads:a dampening of our expectation of jehovah's great day could reveal itself in the advice we give to our children or to others.
'I chose to forgo educational or career possibilities because I felt the wt lied to me that that the end was very close.
don't expect any admission from the wtbts

as a jw, were you convinced that you knew more theologically than "those in christendom", yet hadn't really even read the bible ?
more than say, a monk who over a thousand years ago hand wrote one, and read it everyday ?
I will honestly say that I never, not even one time, met anyone at the door, knew anyone at work who knew the Bible better than me.
Maybe they were the ones who simply said "no thanks"
can anyone tell me how long i might have to wait - in general - for a letter from the watchtower?
i sent them 2 different letters in regards to some questions that i have and i just want an idea of how long to wait until i send a follow up.
in actual fact i'm not even expecting them to respond but how long do i give them?
soon
